Tallit Workshop
Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 1 pm
RSVP REQUIRED NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
to give us enough time to order tallitot and materials.
At this workshop, you will learn about the spiritual practice of wearing a tallit and the significance of the tzitzit, the ritual fringes, and the way they are tied. You will then make your own tallit, using either a pre-sewn tallit which you can decorate using a variety of materials provided, or fabric that you purchase and bring with you.
Please choose from the options below. Once you have made your selections, the total price to pay will be provided. Please note: All participants must select the tzitzit and pay the materials fee.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO BRING YOUR OWN FABRIC, please use the sizes indicated below as a guide and include an additional 1/8 yard contrasting fabric for the atarah (the neckpiece that often contains the tallit blessing). Fabric should be heavy-weight woven fabric with course fibers, such as wool, raw silk, faux silk or polyester broadcloth. You will need to sew the edges and reinforce the holes you will create to attach the tzitzit.
